Prepare your passport details, images and travel plans before starting a Vietnam eVisa request, with a simple checklist for individuals and families.
Prepare once, then review carefully
A useful eVisa checklist begins before you open the application form. Gather the information for each traveller, choose clear document images and keep your intended journey in one place. This makes it easier to complete the request consistently and spot details that need attention.
First confirm the entry requirements for your passport and itinerary using official guidance and your airline. If you are applying independently, use the official Vietnam eVisa portal and follow the instructions shown there. If you would like assistance, review VietVisaGo's new eVisa application service.
1. Check the passport you will travel with
Use the details from the same passport you intend to present for the journey. Check names, passport number, date of birth, nationality and expiry date against the document itself, rather than typing from memory or copying an old booking.
If you recently renewed your passport or changed your name, pause to check that every travel document refers to the correct identity. Ask your airline about any mismatch in a flight reservation before departure.
2. Prepare readable document images
Keep a clear image of the passport information page and a suitable portrait ready. Follow the current upload instructions in the application you are using; check the requested format and size before submitting.
- Check that all required passport information is visible.
- Avoid glare, blurred text and fingers covering the page.
- Open the saved image to check it before uploading.
- Keep each traveller's files separate and label them clearly.
For assisted requests, upload documents only through the designated form or the contact channel confirmed by the team. Avoid putting passport images in public comments or social-media posts.
3. Organise your intended journey
Write down your intended arrival date, expected departure date and arrival location. Review these details against your travel plans so you can explain the trip consistently throughout the request.
A new application and support for an already-pending application are different journeys. If you have already applied, keep the existing reference and use the pending eVisa timing check rather than describing the request as a first application.
4. Make a separate check for every traveller
| Check | Before submitting |
|---|---|
| Identity | Compare the entered details with that traveller's passport |
| Files | Check the correct passport image and portrait were selected |
| Travel plans | Review intended dates and arrival details |
| Contact | Use an email address and phone number you can access |
When travelling as a family or group, avoid assuming that one person's application details apply to everyone. Keep the requests and references identifiable for each traveller.
5. Keep your records after submission
Save the confirmation, reference and a copy of the details submitted. Monitor the contact channel used for the request and respond to any follow-up promptly. Once a visa is issued, review its details before your journey.
For the travel-document side of your trip, consult your airline's guidance, such as Vietnam Airlines' information for flights to Vietnam.

Common mistakes to catch in the final review
- A passport number copied from an expired passport.
- An image assigned to the wrong traveller in a family request.
- An intended arrival date confused with the departure date at the start of the trip.
- A contact email address that cannot be accessed while travelling.
- An entry choice that does not match a planned exit and return to Vietnam.
A second person can help compare the completed fields with the original documents before submission. This is a practical quality check, rather than a guarantee that an application will be accepted.
Should every family member have their details reviewed?
Yes. Review the information and document images for each applicant separately, including children. Keep each reference with the corresponding traveller so any later correction request can be handled accurately.
